1) For Windows 7
Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
On Windows NT it is:
C:\WinNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
For Unix/ Linux
/etc/hosts
2) Open the file "hosts" in Notepad. It has no extension.
3) Open Command Prompt by pressing Win+R and then typing in "cmd"(without quotes) and press Enter.
4) Type (without quotes) "ping www.facebook.com"
www.facebook.com can be replaced by any other host name(Website) for which you want to reduce the time everytime the page loads when you visit the site.
5) Copy the IP address of the host with its host name as shown.
6) Save the Notepad file.
TIP: You can add more domains names with their IP addresses in this file to enhance your browsing speed.
